Born from trust and shared artistic vision that is both visceral and uplifting, Pyrexia EP is Ehua and Flore’s first collaborative EP. It centres around the ideas of heightened perception and body-altering states, where sound becomes a force that triggers intense physical and mental responses. Drawing on this feverish, euphoria-inducing energy, the EP evokes tension, release, and ritualistic motion. The sound of the EP fuses Ehua’s and Flore’s voices and styles in a union that combines percussive and melodic elements with vocals and intricate sound design that give each track its own immersive character.
Panta Rei marks a defining chapter in Ehua’s personal and artistic journey. Beyond a sonic exploration, it signals a shift in her practice: for the first time she embraces her voice as a central element, weaving it together with percussive textures and analog and acoustic instrumentation to shape a body of work that moves fluidly across the bass music spectrum.
Accompanied by concrete-based artwork by Jeroen Erosie, a booklet featuring photography and contextual reflections, and a short film sharing its title, Panta Rei represents an intricate gesamtkunstwerk — a fully realised, multi-disciplinary collaboration gathered around the intimacy and depth of Ehua’s music.
What do clouds sound like?
Suspended in space, they can be heavy or light, menacing or comforting, distraught or at ease. They are still but in motion, they can cause fear and confusion or give you strength, awareness and empowerment.
Combining live handmade percussion, flutes, fierce drum programming and synth work, "Clouds EP" consists of four sonically and energetically varied tracks inspired by the paradoxical nature of these mood-shifting, thought-provoking objects.
Inspired by both the colour and motion of water. Aquamarine EP harnesses different motions and states, collecting thoughts on organisms, frequencies and vibrations that we might not be aware of or perceive.
These ideas and concepts take shape via a rich and experimental workflow that moves between the dark, sludgy broken-beats achieved through custom made percussive samples and original vocals — spoken thoughts in reversed Italian to mirror the sound of the darkest depths of the ocean.
Diplozoon EP encapsulates an artistic metamorphosis, a journey to the source, to the quintessence of incessantly creative, curious souls.
Dreams, nature and childhood memories are woven into layers of rich, dark, yet playful, soundscapes which come together through a metaphor: the unique life cycle of diplozoon paradoxum.
This creature cannot develop until encountering another, the other. And when that encounter happens, the two fuse completely, with no trace of ever having been separate organisms.
The ‘Panta Rei’ booklet is available as part of the limited edition 2x12” deluxe vinyl bundle on Bandcamp, Bleep, Juno, Boomkat and other music stores.
What’s your earliest memory?
Mine is pretending to be older, different, better.
Am I older? Yes. Different? No. Better? How?
Panta Rei is a prolonged period of low tide where everything is exposed, observed, questioned, accounted for; where everything is fixed, but in a constant state of flux. Panta Rei is transformation through experiential conditioning of the body and the self. It is asking questions I don’t know the answer to, it is fulfilling dreams I never knew I dreamt, it is seeing things that I didn't see even though they were right in front of me. It is holding tight and letting go. It is leaving the unnecessary weight behind to make space, to bring with me just what is important—“importante” in Italian, from the Latin importare = portare dentro / to bring within oneself. [...]
Panta Rei (2025) - Ehua, Santabelva
The short film "Panta Rei" was created as part of the release of Ehua’s eponymous debut LP on 3024 Music.
The film is a 9 minutes visual poem that explores the theme of transformation through experiential conditioning of the body and the self. Following up the album's conceptual sonic journey, it is divided into four chapters (Rhythm, Language, Others and Movement - see below) and it was shot in London by video artists Nikola Lorenzin and Niccolò Natali (Santabelva). The soundtrack is composed by a layered tapestry of sound design taken from the record and rearranged with the aim of reminiscing the tracks while providing a distinct sonic identity to each chapter of the film.
Aquamarine (2021) - Ehua, Matteo Zamagni
Collaborating with director and musician Matteo Zamagni, also known as Seven Orbits, Ehua embarks on an exploration of “the paradoxical nature of the aquamarine colour, it’s presence and invisibility.” Abstract, gauzy close-ups of fabric, skin and pearls give the impression of organic life forms, Ehua’s own movements approximating the ebb and flow of marine life.“Preparing to shoot this video was a unique experience,” she says. “Dancing is my compass, they way my body reads sound and lets me know I’m onto something good when I’m working on new music.” Drawing inspiration from aquatic lifeforms, Ehua looked to channel the motion of deep sea creatures in her choreography, the result is a hypnotic marriage of instinctual movement, carefully crafted costume and evocative set design, with Ehua and Matteo Zamagni bearing out the cavernous pressure and shadowy sensuality of the track in the most minute detail.
London-based Italian DJ and producer Ehua has been making waves since the release of her 2018 debut EP, “Diplozoon”. Known for her thoughtful approach to sound and rhythm and for her bold and versatile DJ sets, she has developed a style that is both dynamic and emotionally resonant.
Over the years, Ehua has earned a reputation as an original, skilled selector, regularly performing at some of the world’s most iconic clubs and festivals. Her broad collection of mixes and long-running residency on Rinse FM offer an ongoing glimpse into her wide-ranging influences and rhythmic sensibilities, often rooted in percussive textures and shifting tempos.
Ehua’s distinctive signature sound and unique approach to composition and singer song writing set her apart as a forward thinking independent artist whose prolific discography exudes depth and intentionality. Marked by a careful balance of texture, structure and mood, her productions reflect an artist who is always evolving and pursuing new creative directions which explore the fluid intersections of sound, identity, and meaning.
With releases on labels such as 3024 Music, Nervous Horizon, Exit Records, Tratratrax, Ninja Tune, and Svbkvlt, Ehua stands as a singular voice—consistently shapeshifting while remaining rooted in her artistic truth.
Beyond music, Ehua retains a life-long interest in the arts which she cultivates as a means of self-expression and ontological research within her practice. Independent producer, writer and creative director of all of her projects, Ehua is a mentor and educator. She composes soundtracks for films and multidisciplinary dance performances, and she is part of Rome-based arts collective Griotmag / Spazio Griot.
